The crop production index in Ghana stood at 118.58 points in 2019. This followed the upward trend observed since 2007. Smallholder farming is a mainstay in Ghana's agricultural sector. Some of the main food crops produced in the country are maize, cassava, cocoyam (taro), cassava, rice, and plantain.
